The Golden Age of the Golf Trip.
Welcome to the Golden Age of the Golf Trip. After a couple of lean years
with diminished fields, we start our 29th tournament with a full
complement of players. The field includes two new competitors and
a couple of former Turtle champions.
Toby “Hoss Cartwright”
Hyke played without a partner last year. Hoss will definitely
benefit from the addition of
Michael “The Calcutta
Chairman” Wood as his playing partner. Wood will try to defend his
Turtle win from a year ago.
The Chairman's former partner,
Abe “The Ghost” Wood
will try to duplicate last year’s win of the Templeton Cup and second
place finish for the Turtle. The task may prove daunting, however, with
the Ghost breaking in a new partner. He'll keep it in the family, as he
teams up with newcomer and brother in law
Matt “Marv”
Thornbury.
Jeff “Sir Title
Lock” McCall is back for the second year in a row after a long
sabbatical. In the absence of his regular partner,
Ryan “Mink Wrangler” McNally,
Title Lock’s partner will be first timer
Clark “Goober”
Lindsey. Look for big things from Goober in his first Turtle
appearance.
Back for a return visit are the dangerous team of
Richard “The Envy”
Matlock and Mike
“Grizzly Adams” King. King returns after a two-year hiatus, tanned,
rested, and ready to vie for the prize. After playing solo in 2017,
Matlock opted out of last year’s event to attend a wedding. With the
return of playing partner King, be on the lookout for a solid
performance by these two.
Good Luck as we enter the Golden Age!
